Catalogue of Child Literacy Reviews

A Review is a survey of the research literature on a specific topic. A review shares knowledge by drawing together, comparing, and then summarizing in one document the findings of many individual studies. We found 64 reviews of child literacy research and together they examined almost 3000 studies. We sorted the reviews into the seven broad issues they addressed. Click the issue in the table below to find a plain language summary of all of the reviews on one issue, a summary of each review, and a Snapshot of the research details in each review. Information missing from a review is indicated in its Snapshot as "NR".

Visit the Canadian Centre for Knowledge Mobilisation for details of the systematic methods used to create the Catalogue of Child Literacy Reviews. Construction of the Catalogue was funded by Research Works! for child literacy and the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
