Is one-to-one volunteer tutoring effective in increasing the math and literacy skills of children in Grades 1-6?

Research Works! conducted a  systematic review of research evidence in partnership with Frontier College, the Policy Information and Research Unit of the Ontario Ministry of Education, and the Canadian Centre for Knowledge Mobilisation . We found 57 articles and prepared a Summary Report on the 22 experiments that tested the effectiveness of tutoring. Together the studies indicated that when it comes to enhancing literacy, tutoring works! CCKM SPOTLIGHTS feature the 10 best experiments in the systematic review of evidence.
